...is her favorite make-up company.
I owe finding my favorite cosmetic company to my incorrigible bargain hunting habits...and T.J. Maxx.
I came across The Balm cosmetics during the Summer of 2011.
They have the cutest pin-up girl/retro style packaging that I have ever seen and it, of course, caught my ever watchful asthetic eye.
T.J. Maxx's marked down prices made this pricy makeup line more affordable and made me willing to try it out.
At the time, I purchased a tinted moisturizer with SPF and an "overshadow" which is a loose shimmery powder to be worn either alone as an eye shadow or, as was intended, over your eye shadow as a finishing touch.

After trying both out, I was instantly hooked and began scouring all local T.J. Maxx for more of The Balm's cosmetics.
As of now, I have tinted moisturizer, bronzer, blush, lip stain, the entire line of overshadows, anti aging moisturizer, and a set of nail polishes.

All of these purchases have, for now, proven to be worth every cent.
My prediction is that this San Francisco based brand will eventually become a cult classic or perhaps even battle it out at Sephora with other, similar packaged brands like Benefit. Benefit, although a good brand, does not in my opinion win in a battle against The Balm.
The Balm, by far, is my cosmetic company best friend.
Visit The Balm's website to learn more about the company and check out your local T.J. Maxx to see if they carry any of their products. If not, you can purchase The Balm's line off from Sephora.
