Mixing and Stacking

After looking at the Tiffany & Co ad in Glamour's September issue, I was struck by the concept of the model wearing a total of four Tiffany Bezet rings stacked on her right hand. The rings alternated between a round and square cut diamond. The point of the ad was to advertise Tiffany's newest line of Tiffany locks but I was most taken with the simplistic yet bold take on stacking different rings together for an overall polished yet eclectic look.
This trend can be made as creative as you desire. I like the idea of blending gold and platinum bands, as well as choosing diamonds with one or two accented gemstones such as a ruby or emerald. The rings are at a pretty steep price if you buy them directly from Tiffany's. Each ring will cost at least $1700 dollars and of course, the price only goes up from there. But finding similar rings at your local jeweler would be a great alternative. Or even just investing in one Tiffany's ring as a celebration piece and later on getting cheaper rings to stack with it would be a great option.
When indulging in this trend make sure not to overstack your hand. If you have shorter fingers just make sure that you aren't putting so many rings on your finger that it's overwhelming. Even just stacking two rings together will most certainly add a dash of daring to your outfit. In the immortal words of CoCo Chanel, "before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off."
Happy Stacking!
